Malus d. 'Golden Delicious'
- Common Name: Apple - Eating
The classic yellow-to-pale-green dessert apple. A reliable, heavy cropper given good pollination, and an excellent pollinator for other varieties. Flavour and size is unlikely to achieve green-grocer quality in the British climate, but still a nice choice in a mixed orchard for its pollination value and heavy crop of contrasting yellow fruit. Promotes good cropping for 'Fuji', 'Reinette du Canada', 'Starking', 'Bramleys' (Group D) or 'Holstein' and 'Granny Smith' (Group C). Late October ripening. Rootstock: Bittenfelder Seedling and Malus type 4. Pollination Group C/D.
