Betula nigra 'Heritage'

  • Common Name: Birch
  • From

    £3,165.75 ex-VAT

A birch whose highly ornamental shaggy, peeling red-brown bark (becoming black or grey-white on old trees) provides year-round interest. Produces an abundance of long golden catkins in early spring, with a shiny dep green leaf in summer which phases to yellow in autumn. The crown matures to a slightly pendant loose pyramidal to columnar shape. Particularly effective when planted as a multi-stem form in a position that allows the detail of its bark and catkins to be appreciated. Best in sun to partial shade, in moist soil. Good wind resistance.
