Native to western US, the Incense cedar is widely planted in many temperate regions. This slow-growing tree, has a skinny, columnar shape in youth, becoming only a little more rounded at maturity. Rich, dark-green foliage. Male and female cones are small and inconspicuous. Best on well-drained, slightly acidic sandy loams. RHS hardiness rating: H6
