'Dr Burnside' produces flowers in semi-double or peony-form, in a fiery scarlet. Slow growing, upright to spreading shrub or very small tree with age. Oval, glossy, leaves and profuse winter to spring blooming flowers in milder climates. Plant in humous-rich free draining soil in dappled light avoiding cold winds and early morning sun. Non-invasive roots. RHS hardiness rating: H5
