One of the nicest looking dessert apple varieties, producing a heavy crop of vibrantly red apples in autumn. The apple is crisp and sweet with a hint of honey-like flavour. For best results, plant in the vicinity of at least one other apple variety which flowers at the same time. Often existing apple trees or even crab-apple trees growing locally will suffice. Suitable partners include: 'Golden Delicious', 'Reinette du Canada', 'Starking' (same pollination group), or 'Holstein' or 'Granny Smith' (flower slightly earlier but usually overlap in season). Pollination group D.
