A fairly vigorous deciduous shrub with maple-like leaves which colour rich red in autumn. Bears golf-ball size clusters of white flowers in profusion in June/July followed by red berry-like fruits that persist long into winter. Can be used effectively as informal hedging and will continue to flower (though not as profusely) with careful timing of trimming. Flat surface roots. H6
