Visit the Nursery
Visit the Nursery
You are warmly invited to browse our 27 acres of trees, located on the outskirts of the picturesque village of Flamstead, just off junction 9 of the M1. (Note we are 8 miles northwest of St. Albans).
We are a dog-friendly nursery, but please always ensure that your dog is kept on a lead.
No Appointment Needed
You do not need an appointment to visit, but if you’d like to speak with one of our horticultural advisors, simply call or send us an email, and we’ll book you a complimentary consultation to go through your requirements, Monday to Friday. We recommend setting aside at least an hour for your visit to fully explore the nursery—even if you don’t book a consultation. On Saturday, the advisors are rota’d to work every other Saturday, so we only offer appointments at 10am when we open.

Public Transport
The nearest train station is Harpenden, with taxi services available to reach us within 10 minutes. Harpenden is not an option if coming long distance, so the next best choice is Luton.
Collection Service
Due to the size of our stock, we do not offer a cash-and-carry service. However, if paid for in advance, we are happy to prepare trees for collection by appointment from Monday to Friday, before 4pm.
By Helicopter
If you wish to come by helicopter, Harrods Aviation offers facilities at Luton Airport, or we can arrange for you to land in a field nearby at the Hertfordshire County Showground for a £50 donation to the show, though you will have to clear this with Luton Airport as we are on their flightpath.

Important Visitor Information
Photos help! Bring pictures or video of your planting site, ideally with someone in them for scale. This makes it easier for us to advise you and useful for your own reference.
Will it fit? It’s easy to underestimate the scale of our trees, so we need to ensure there is adequate access. Before your visit, measure and take note of the narrowest access point from the delivery spot to the planting area. Also, check for any height restrictions, steps, pipes, gas meters or other obstacles to avoid issues with delivery and planting; even better make a video from where you believe we can park up right through to where we will plant.
Dress for the outdoors. Wear sturdy shoes and suitable clothing, as this is a working nursery, so dress like you are going for a walk in the countryside. We provide Hunter wellington boots and thick socks, but you’re welcome to bring your own.
Children are welcome, but parents must be mindful of heavy machinery and potential uneven terrain. Some areas may not be accessible by pram or pushchair, but we are happy to take you around in a golf buggy.
Disabled Access:
We encourage visitors with mobility concerns to book an appointment so we can show you around in a golf buggy. If you need to use your own motorised transport, the nursery has main concrete roads to each area.
