A delightful shrubby species, up to 2.8m high with ovate, dark-green, 3-lobed leaves. In spring it is smothered with golden anthered, pure white flowers opening from pink buds. These are followed by small bright red, cherry-like fruits which contrast well against the bright yellow autumn foliage. Fruits are long lasting but also attractive to birds. H6
