The wild form of Japanese maple prized for its gorgeous purple-red, orange or yellow autumnal colours. An excellent choice for autumn colour in a smaller garden, or as part of an ornamental woodland in a larger space. Best in a moist but well-drained loam, sheltered from cold winds.
