'Armstong', which is another great Freeman hybrid, offers a neat, columnar habit making it very suitable for avenues and streets as well as more narrow locations. Small red flower corymbs decorate the crown prior to the foliage. Colours brilliantly red in autumn after a hot summer. Does best in lime-free, well-drained soil. Tolerates paving. H7
