An incredibly elegant alder with an open pyramidal crown and pendulous tips. The leaves are deeply lobed, creating a soft and graceful appearance. In winter, the cone-like fruits remain on the tree, creating a lovely display together with the male catkins. This slow grower does well in most locations, but avoid full shade, paving and dry soils.
