Originally from Switzerland, this cultivar, though similar in leaf, is much more upright than the species and its white bark is nearly on par with the Himalayan birch. This combination of shape and form makes the 'Swiss Glory' a superb candidate for street and avenue planting. Thrives in most soils but susceptible to drought. Very hardy. A shallow rooting tree
