A highly attractive upright to spreading evergreen shrub, or small tree, with glossy, dark-green, leathery leaves. 'Mrs Charles Cobb bears gorgeous, semi-double to peony-form, dark-red flowers in early spring. Lovely addition to borders or as in accent in a pot. Place in a sheltered area away from morning sun. Requires moist, acidic, well-draining soil. RHS hardiness rating: H5
