A truly compact hornbeam with a dense, upright, oval habit when young, broadening slightly with age but maxing out at 8m tall and 4m wide. Attractive winged fruit and handsome mid-green leaves with distinc ribbing turning buttery yellow in autumn. Perfect for avenues, but does not tolerate paving. Slow-growing. H7
