A slow-growing tree, native to Missouri with a beautiful broadly-round crown and smooth, grey bark. Older limbs often exibit a distinctive and handsome muscle-like fluting. Being a natural understory tree, this species does well in full to part shade. Clusters of winged nutlets in summer. Respectable orange, red and yellow autumn colours. H6
