Picturesque tree with a wide spreading crown and lush, mid-green, large heart-shaped leaves. White flowers are borne in upright panicles in mid-summer, followed by curious long, slender, pendulous pods. Catalpas are tolerant of a wide variety of soils but prefer moist loams. Good polution tolerance. Avoid windy sites. Hardy.
