A more compact form of the well-known 'Contorta', with twisting, curly branches and leaves, reaching 3m. Undoubtedly best in winter and early spring when the branches are bare and can be admired together with the decorative catkins, but also boasts with good yellow-orange autumn colours. Grows well in any well-drained soil. H6
