A compact cultivar offering a dramatic splash of colour with its leaves emerging deep purple, maturing to dark blue-green then turning orange-red in autumn. The oval leaves are also pleasantly undulated. Tiny yellow flowers are produced in summer in large, airy pink panicles, like puffs of smoke. Great in all well-drained soils. RHS hardiness rating: H5
