This colourful cultivar bears deep purple leaves which take on a lovely red tone in autumn. The tiny yellow flowers are at closer inspection quite attractive but it's the billowy hairs of spent flower stalks which turn smoky pink to purplish pink that give plant its classic appearance. Does well on all well-drained soils as well as exposed sites. H5
