A large shrub or small tree which produces double scarlet flowers in May which are set amongst the leaves, then follows the show up with rounded red berries and warm tints in autumn. This little tree is very hardy and adaptable, tolerating both dryness and excessive moisture. Perhaps 4-5meters tall at 10 years. Roots are generally deep and unproblematic.
