The pink, early spring flowers are sweetly scented, dark green leaves are evergreen. The new season's foliage emerges with a coppery tint. Prefers a sunny sheltered position, well drained soil. CAUTION: hardy to -5c, usually survives brief periods of deeper freeze, but survival cannot be guaranteed in extended periods of extreme cold.
