Deciduous. Narrow and upright form of Beech with deep purple foliage which phases to red and orange tones in autumn. Very useful for bringing interest and structure to a planting scheme, especially when planted in repetition. For best colour grow in full sun. Tolerant of a wide range of well drained soils including chalk, but excluding heavy clay. Shallow rooting. Prune in late winter early spring if needed. A shallow rooting tree.
