A rather slow species to grow but one which, when mature, is spell-bindingly beautiful in blossom. A small tree whose spreading branches are heavily laden with white, nodding, bell-shaped flowers. The tree performs best in a humus rich, ideally slightly acid soil and is superb in an ornamental woodland style planting. Deep rooting and seldom problematic.
