Multistemmed shrub or small tree with attractive peeling bark. Produces panicles of small, white flowers in late summer followed by long lasting, rose-pink to purple, fruits. Leaves midgreen, purple-tinged autumn colours. Fast-growing and very shade tolerant. Attracts butterflies.Tolerant of temperatures as low as -35 °C.
