In the UK, crape myrtle often suffers from frost damage and doesn't have time to flower before winter sets in. However, 'Rhapsody in Pink', bearing soft pink flowers and burgandy tinted foliage, is far more hardy and flowers both earlier and longer than the species. Needs full sun and a low, even dose of fertiliser to bloom (slow release). H5
