A beautiful tree with maple-like leaves that turn red, purple and gold, often sustaining its fiery display into December. 'Worplesdon' doesn't share the corky features of the species but its autumn colours are all the more spectacular. Pleached forms are both attractive and interesting alternatives for screening. Prune once a year to maintain shape. Hardy.
