An elegant cultivar with a tidy, upswept habit developing a broadly-vase shaped appearance with age. Bears unique dark-pink flower spikes in April - May followed by pendulous spiky fruits typical of the species. The palmate leaves emerge strikingly red, maturing to dark-green then turning fiery red in autumn. Also known as 'Stared'. RHS hardiness rating: H6
