Deciduous. A robust fairly easy to grow tree with unusual tulip-shaped leaves, which produces tulip-shaped green, yellow and orange flowers in June/July. 'Aureomarginatum differs from the species in its somewhat slower growth habit and the yellow-green margins of its leaves. An ideal large summer interest tree, with lush foliage and an interesting canopy when viewed from beneath. Also fantastic in autumn when it turns a butter yellow. A loose deep soil is required as this tree has a deep taproot.
