This lovely French cultivar dates back to the late 19th century. Beautifull, glossy green leaves with a striking velvety underside are borne on ascending branches creating a handsome, broadly oval habit. Gorgeous, large (20 cm across), white, scented flowers unfold in July to August. Requires a moist but well draining soil, preferably acidic. May drop leaves during severe winters. RHS hardiness rating: H5
