This elegant magnolia is a hybrid using Magnolia x veitchii and Magnolia liliiflora 'Nigra'. The oval crown, which will broaden with age, bears richly scented, pink, narrowly cup-shaped flower in April-May. The petals are heavily flushed deep pink at the base with a distint stripe on the back. Needs a sheltered spot with full sun or light shade. Hardy.
