A distinct and charming, slow-growing Japanese shrub forming a compact rounded specimen usually wider than high. Produces pure white, slightly fragrant, star-shaped flowers in March and April before the mid-green foliage appears. Buds are sensative to frost and morning sun. Tolerant of clay but dislikes alkaline or chalky soils. H6
