A very hardy open-headed tree with a gracious, languid character. Leavers are very large, fresh green, flowers are also large, bowl-shaped, creamy white produced in June. Cone-shaped purple-red fruits are then produced. The tree can eventually attain a height of perhaps 8-12 meters and makes a glorious solitary specimen. Best grown in a fertile, permeable acid to neutral soil.
