'Melrose' is a delicious dessert apple raised by Freeman S. Howlett in Ohio, USA, introduced in 1944. Fruits are green with an attractive red blush. Creamy white, moderately firm, a little coarse-textured, juicy flesh, with a pleasant sweet, subacid, slightly aromatic flavour. Stores until the end of February. Triploid. Flowering group 4.
