Trained apple trees are fantastic way of enjoying fruit produce without a spacious crown. 'Melrose' is a delicious dessert apple raised by Freeman S. Howlett in Ohio, USA, introduced in 1944. Fruits have creamy white, moderately firm, a little coarse-textured, juicy flesh, with a pleasant sweet, subacid, slightly aromatic flavour. Self-sterile. Flowering group 4.
