An English cooking apple from the Victorian era, raised by Mrs Peasgood of Stamford, Linconshire, with traditional qualities such as large size, juicy, with a sharp tangy flavour and course light flesh. Ripens mid-season and keeps well. The Victorian word nonsuch means 'unsurpassed'. Partially self-fertile, flowing group 3. H6
