An extremely decorative little evergreen reaching 1.5m. Its bamboo-like habit, with laceolate leaflets are tinged purplish-red in spring when young, becoming dark-green then re-take a purplish hue in winter. Small white flowers in summer are followed by attractive, red berries. May drop its leaves during periods of severe cold. RHS hardiness rating: H5
