Osmanthus armatus is a broadleaf evergreen shrub or small tree native to western China. It grows in rocky alpine habitats and has a dense, upright-rounded, and bushy habit. It can reach heights of 12-17' and widths of 8-10', but sometimes grows up to 30' tall. It is also known as holly olive because of its spiny leaves and olive-like fruits.
