A small tree of rounder, widespreading habit whose autumn tones of gold and crimson do not appear until well into November, and are sustained in full glory often right through December. Bark of older stems flake, providing an appealing texture. Clusters of crimson stamens appear in early spring. Fine autumn color, even on chalk. Slow to moderate growth. A shallow rooting habit.
