Colorado spruce, also known as Blue spruce, is a broadly conical conifer with horizontal branches sweeping the ground. Native to the Rocky Mountains, this attractive landscape tree bears short, sharp, blue-green to silver-blue needles and light-brown, cylindrical cones. Best in acidic, rich, moist, well-drained soil and full sun. Hardy. A shallow rooting habit.
