This impressively fast growing male clone, selected in Lombardy in northern Italy in the 17th century, has a compact, narrow crown with mid-green, birch-like leaves. Trees often exceed 30m in height, providing a fantastic windbreak for crops or a dramatic spire-like focal point in a large garden or park. Tolerates all soils, including waterloggedo ones. Hardy.
