A lovely evergreen with oval dark-green leaves on carmine red stalks; its dense habit making it perfect for creative topiary. Small white, fragrant flowers on long racemes in June often followed by red fruits turning dark glossy purple. Prune twice a year to maintain a crisp shape. Does well on chalk soils. NOTE: Fruit is harmful if eaten. H5
