An ornamental pear which produces blush to white flowers with black stamens in late spring, then offers a glossy green foliage through the summer before phasing to a strong red in autumn, with the colour often persisting to Christmas. Small brown fruits sometimes produced in late summer. An upright, dense tree when young, broadening considerably with age. Moderate to fast growth rate. Deep rooting.
