This cultivar of our native english oak is a most handsome tree with firm, upright branches giving it a dense, columnar shape. Excellent choice for formal avenues, tall hedging or a garden focal point. Tolerant of urban air pollution and a wide range of soils but prefers deep moist soils. Leaves and acorns similar to the species. Very hardy. Deep rooting.
