The pagoda tree is native to China but for a long time has been cultivated and naturalised in Japan, from where the species was originally described. It grows into a lofty tree 10-20m tall with an equal spread. A popular ornamental tree grown for its attractive foliage, and, ultimately, after some 30-40 years, its white flowers. It is therefore a wonderful choice for a public park or botanical garden, where it can be appreciated by many in maturity. H5
