A somewhat tropical looking tree producing creamy-white flowers over several weeks in July and August, giving way to firm red glossy fruits. Stunning, flaking bark and attractive ovate leaves which turn rich orange to red in autumn. Prefers semi-shade and a moist, loamy, lime-free soil. They resent disturbance and once planted are best left alone. H5
