Along with 'Charles Joly', this is one of the more common lilacs bearing large, fragrant panicles of double, rose-lilac, white centered flowers opening in May. After their 3-4 week blooming period the plants can be pruned if needed. Responds well to hard winter pruning too. Good in all soils but best in well-drained, fertile, neutral to alkaline soil. H6
