Its upright, set limbs and pinnate leaves bear resemblence of Ailanthus, but with rough bark, peeling off in long strips on older trees. 'Flamingo' has bright salmon-pink spring foliage, maturing to dark-green in summer. White flowers in pendulous clusters followed by winged capsules. Golden autumn colours. Needs light, well-drained soil and full sun. H4
