Native to the Mediterranean, the common grape vine is an old cultivated species dating back to the Neolithic Era, 10,000-2000 BC. It is a liana, a woody climber, with rounded 3-5 lobed, toothed leaves, grey hairy at first. Produces spherical berries (grapes) up to 3cm long which can be green, red or purple (black). Grow in well-drained soil. H5
