Named after the Belgian botanist Ambroise Verschaffelt, the cut-leaf zelkova is a beautiful hybrid between the Japanese zelkova and Caucasian elm with deeply incised leaflets. It shares the graceful wide-spreading habit of its parents as well as their stunning bronze-red, to yellow and orange. Adaptable and tolerant of heat, little water, nutrient poor soils and various pH. H6
