One of the most popular of the winter-flowering witch hazels, producing glowing sulphur-yellow flowers in densely crowded clusters on bare stems in February and March. Scent is strong and sweet but delicate. Autumn colour is equally fiery yellow. Ultimately attains a height and spread of about 4 meters. Usually grown as a multi-stem and delightful in an ornamental woodland planting or in a deep mixed bed. Shallow rooting habit. H5
